It was on August 9, 1945 when Japan faced its darkest day, the day where thousands of Japanese were obliterated in a blink of an eye after the US drops an atomic bomb on the port of Nagasaki. This horrifying event leads the Japanese government to surrender and ended the World War II in the Pacific.

70 years had passed but the nightmare of the attack still lingers in the heart of many Japanese survivors on that fateful day and Sumitery Taniguchi is one of them. He will not only tell you the tragic story but also will show you the scars of yesterday’s nuclear war.

86-year-old Sumitery Taniguchi is one of the living survivors of the atomic blast that destroyed Nagasaki port.

70 years later, Taniguchi can still recalls the past as the scars were embedded in his entire body.

He was left with a web-like marks, three ribs rotten away that still press against his lungs, and a disabled left arm.

The 5-ton plutonium bomb called ”Fat Man” was the second atomic bomb used in Japan while the first one was dropped in Hiroshima three days earlier which is lighter than the Fat Man.

Taniguchi was only 16 then and working as a letter carrier when the bomb explode 500 above his home town Nagasaki, which is a vital point for Japan that provides access to Shanghai.

What could be more painful than babies being abandoned by their parents because of their physical condition? A child can never choose their parents nor be able to choose what they’d look like. Yet, some heartless people easily deserted their child as if they were nothing.

A two-week-old baby girl was born to 25-year-old Mamata Dode during her 7 month of pregnancy. The baby, who isn’t named yet, was only 800 grams upon delivery and was born with a rare wrinkly skin disorder. Because of this, the infant’s mother refused to neither feed her nor visit her at the hospital. However, her paternal grandfather Dilip Dode is willing to look after her despite her condition

Mr. Dode reported that the couple were expecting a healthy child like their older daughter Payal, now three years old. Everything seemed to be normal; they were not informed of any problems during the prenatal checks.

But they were horrified when the baby was born unusually wrinkly all over.
Words soon spread among the villagers. Their relatives and the villagers gathered to see the baby. Some ran away in fear as soon as they did while others did not want to hold her as they fear they might catch her disease.

Vampires are probably the most famous frightening creature ever known to man. And their signature fangs are the most decorated than any other pointy tooth beast out there. While fanatics spend a lot trying to look like a vampire, one mother from Collington in Herefordshire didn’t need to waste money to look like one, as she have real vampire fangs. How crazy is that?

Crazy it may sound but Charlotte Bateman, 49, never wished to have vampire fangs. It was a rare gum disease called ‘severe periodontal disease’ that left her with jagged teeth.

Unfortunately, her condition was left undiagnosed by her dentists Smith, Holloman and Associated in Bromyard, Hertfordshire, despite she regularly visits the clinic. Even her gums were left to rot.

It was just in 2011, Charlotte's gum disease was diagnosed after an X-ray taken during an orthodontic consultation and discovered several of her teeth were showing bone loss.
She said, “When I would visit the dentist my gums would bleed so much during the examinations that they would have to stop and get me to rinse every time an instrument was put in my mouth.

“One day, when I was flossing at home, a piece of debris got pushed up and lodged in my gum – gums are not meant to be soft like that.

“I knew something was seriously wrong.”

1. Too fat for murder
controversial, fat, too fat to, overweight, shocking
A new documentary is set to reveal the astonishing true life story of a woman who testified falsely to murder but was found innocent on the grounds that her burgeoning obesity could never have allowed her to commit the crime. TLC's Half-Ton Killer? tells of how, in March 2008, Texan Mayra Rosales, 31, told police officers that she had killed her two-year-old nephew, Eliseo Jr, by accidentally rolling on top of him while babysitting. Due to her 1,100lb frame, Mayra imagined her story to be believable, until doctors revealed that the boy could only have died from a blow to the head. Then her attorney's main argument for her defense became the reality that she was so big she couldn't move her arm.

After lying to the authorities, Mayra eventually confessed the truth. She had invented the story to protect her sister Jaime, whom she claimed had struck the boy various times over his body with a hairbrush earlier the same day. (Source)

2. To fat to go to jail

A man considered too obese to be jailed for an altercation at a pub has spoken out about escaping prison time. Shepparton man Claude Jackson is currently doing community service for smashing a glass over another man's head at a Shepparton bar on January 14, 2007. The victim, Tim Kirkman, received a 4cm cut to his neck in the incident and required hospital treatment. Jackson pleaded guilty to recklessly causing serious injury and affray.

A medical report submitted to the Victorian County Court sitting at Shepparton said Mr Jackson, who weighed 190kg, had suffered three heart attacks earlier in life and suffered from ongoing arthritis, sleep apnoea and other weight-related ailments. It said he had once weighed up to 234kg and that "morbid obesity" had been present all his life. The medical report also warned that a jail term would "create great problems" for his health.

While reluctant to talk about the incident, the 21-year-old said he was deeply sorry and had been keeping out of trouble since the barroom brawl. (Source)

3. Too fat to wear a wedding dress
Having set a date for her big day, Claire Donnelly was delighted to be able to get down to the business of choosing her wedding dress. So the 31-year-old booked an appointment at boutique bridal shop By Design in Gloucester. But Miss Donnelly was left devastated after shop workers reportedly told her she was too big to be fitted for a gown. She says she was left feeling humiliated after an assistant told her the shop did not stock dresses big enough for her size 16 figure. Claire, who is 5ft 2ins, was then told that she would not be able to afford any of the designs in the shop with her budget of £450 to £500.
